Chris is widely considered to be an industry leader in parish and town housing needs surveys, having cultivated a broad depth of knowledge in 17 years working in the housing consultancy sector in a variety of different roles. Previously a chief housing officer responsible for public and private housing strategy in a large metropolitan authority, Chris has experience working for market leading housing and research consultancies. He has project managed SHMA, district and local level HNS projects all over England and Wales. As a qualified performance coach, he has facilitated option appraisal processes. Chris has developed tight writing and communication skills helping people to get information from data.
Chris was the proprietor of Chris Broughton Associates from 2010 to 2017, where he concentrated on parish level studies. He saw an opportunity to apply his skills at a local level due to the enactment of the Localism Act. Most recently, before forming CNB Housing Insights, Chris was a Director at arc4 where he took responsibility for the local housing needs surveys and assessments at parish and town levels in addition to SHMA and LHNA work.

Nicola has been in the housing sector for 7 years, in roles ranging from service provision for a large government temporary housing contract through to consulting on housing needs for local authorities, CLTs and parish councils, in the form of HNS projects and SHMAs. She has spent considerable time refining data analysis and presentation across all of these roles, producing reports for senior management and executives, and introducing concepts such as infographics to ensure information is clear, concise and digestible.
